Research Topic: Multi-criteria design decision-making for multi-species building envelopes

Contributing toward the EU-funded ECOLOPES FET-Open research project, his PhD research suggests a multi-criteria decision-making methodology and tool to support the computational design of multi-species building envelopes. His research investigates the potential to sequentially employ multi-objective optimization algorithms and multi-attribute decision-making techniques to generate and rank optimized design solutions. Informed by nested key performance indicators, the proposed methodology aims to facilitate multi-species building envelope evaluation based on varied architectural and ecological objectives. Through his research, he expects to contribute toward interdisciplinary approaches for holistic sustainable design decision-making. He believes that this will catalyse future city designs with cohabitation opportunities between humans and other living organisms through the abiotic, biotic, and built environment.
